Runner / Barback

Bouillon d'Amsterdam is the table of the city. De Blauwe Parade is our (cocktail) bar of the city - with Amsterdam courage, drinks from our own soil, and always bustling at the bar. We are looking for a Runner / Barback for De Blauwe Parade: the one who keeps the engine of the bar running. Without you, there is no pace, no full glasses, and no tidy bar.

Your role

As a Runner / Barback, you are the silent force behind the bar.

You:

• Ensure the bar is always stocked: glassware, ice, garnishes, bottles, dishes

• Assist in serving drinks and bar food to guests at tables and standing tables

• Collect glassware, clear tables, and keep the bar and bar area neat and clean

• Cut fruit, fill coolers, sometimes pour a beer, and learn the basics of cocktails

• Work closely with the bartenders and the service staff, so the bar never runs dry

• Keep moving: you are the one who walks just a bit faster than the rest

Who are you?

• You have energy for ten and enjoy being physically active

• You don't mind working 'behind the scenes' as long as the team is running smoothly

• You are eager to learn: you want to know more about drinks, bar work, and maybe stand behind the bar yourself later on

• You stay calm in busy situations and still keep an overview

• Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus, but not required - motivation is key

For the novice and the connoisseur, from cocktails to a small beer, from bitterballen to herring, eel, and a meatball sandwich.

True class for us lies in simplicity and attention. Not in grandeur, but in the story behind each glass. We mainly serve drinks from our own soil: Amsterdam and Dutch heritage, from genevers and liqueurs to modern craft spirits and local beers. All served with knowledge, flair, and a wink.

De Blauwe Parade is the living café of Bouillon d'Amsterdam: before or after dinner, you can come here for that first cocktail, a good glass of wine, or just 'one more' at the bar. A place where you spontaneously linger, where the buzz is cozy, and where everyone joins in.
