Job description
As a shiftleader at Bouillon d’Amsterdam, you are the key person on the floor during your shift. You are actively involved in service, while also keeping an overview: you manage colleagues, ensure quality, and ensure that the service runs smoothly and with flair.
You effortlessly switch between assisting guests, coaching colleagues, and stepping in where needed. A sudden rush, last-minute large reservation, or two people calling in sick? You remain calm, make a plan, and keep the atmosphere positive.
What will you do?
Leading the service on the floor: you are the point of contact for the team and guests
Supervising, guiding, and motivating service staff
Participating in service: welcoming, advising, serving, and handling payments for guests
Ensuring quality: appearance, pace, hospitality, and cleanliness
Coordinating with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth operations
Contributing to a good briefing and brief evaluation after the shift
Focusing on upselling and guest experience: from wine recommendations to extra desserts
Who are you?
You are hands-on: you are among your people, not above them
You can communicate clearly and are not afraid to give feedback – honest and respectful
You enjoy a fast pace, structure, and conviviality at the same time
You think in solutions and keep your cool when it gets busy
You speak at least Dutch and English
You find it natural to work evenings and weekends – that's when it's most fun
